Your work is beautiful!
Thanks for accepting my friend request! I used to live in South Carolina and I'd love to go back to the area, there are some really gorgeous forests in North Carolina that would be a pleasure to shoot in
Thank you for the ad! Hope you are well and are enjoying the festive season :) xx

I meant to put this in my email, you may want to hit up a Miss SonnieMarie...I think y'all may work well together ;)
hey dear! please shoot me an email so we can try to meet up this weekend <3 [email protected]
We'll try again, soon.
Thank you for the add kind Sir :)
You're welcome. Sorry I was MIA for so long, following my surgery.
I hope you're doing well and recovering hun!
I'll pull back the curtain -- it was a 10 minute shoot, following a thunderstorm, just before sunset, in Rahway, NJ… after Zerotia, Chris Day and Mark Harris had sat down to be interviewed for my Bare Conversation art nude oral history project.
Love your profile photo right now!!!
Thanks! It was a brief bit of UrbExing/goofing around with Erica Jay, last summer.
Xoxo hope all is well...
They're finally on the right track. You?
Hey! Thank you for the accepting my friend request! nice to meet you! are you visit my new set? take a look http://www.zivity.com/models/Sidus/photosets/4
love the "making art is serious business" profile pic!
Thanks! Erica Jay is one of my favorite people ever -- we always spend too much time talking and not enough time photographing.
The phrase in the image is sort of my mantra -- I try to avoid pretention at all costs. :)
Thank you for the friend request! Amazing work. How often do you travel or would I have to come to you? Hope you are having a fantastic weekend ♥
Aw, shucks. Thanks.
I've got a young family and work at a university, so I won't be traveling much, during the academic year… but I can hook you up with some amazing photographers in NC, if you come up.
I understand. Are weekends the best time for you then? I may have to plan a road trip at some point, I looked it up and it's about a 6 hour drive.
Generally speaking, yes. :)
How are things in Georgia?
Pretty good, the weather is still up and down. It was warming up but now it's cold and rainy. How are things in NC?
Aw, shucks, thank you! I'm really glad you liked it -- I'd been agonizing over the process of whittling an impromptu shoot of over 120 photos (including some incredible infrared images) down to just 20 for the Zivity set (and probably driving her nuts in the process) for more than a month.
Thanks for adding me as a friend =) Your Squall Line set with Zerotia is awesome... every single pic so stunning =D the published b/w set is a killer... the spirit of the images comes across much more intense in b/w than from the bonus color set (though it's a great bonus feature to be able to compare both sets and their different impressions) Cheers from Germany, Andreas =D
Andreas, Zerotia and I went back and forth on this for a while -- while we loved the intense color cast of sunset (and the cool tones when she is laying on the roof, after the sun has gone down), the starkness of the black and white (it's a conversion process I've honed over the past year, to mimic a particular film and developer combination that I love to use in my medium format cameras) won-out.
hey there, thanks for the lovely comment on my wall (can you tell I've fallen a little behind writing everyone back? lol) Not sure when the next time I'll be back in NC is but possibly august or in the fall :)
Just keep me in the loop, either here, or on FB.
Howdy! Thanks for the friend request! :) Your work Rocks!
Aw, shucks, thanks!
:) my pleasure!
Nice win for the Jan/Feb top tog prize. Congrats!!
Thanks for the invite:)
You never have to thank me. :)
hey darling how are you?
I'm good (slow to reply, though). How are you?
Congratulations on winning the January/February Top Photography prize.Remnants of Empire and Innocence is such a beautiful set, and a very well-deserved winner!
Thanks, Babs -- funny thing is, I was sick as a dog on the day we made those photos and, until Spiro decided to retire, a couple weeks later, it was always our intention to go back to that location and reshoot, because we were concerned that the first go-round wasn't up to snuff. :)
It's a shame Spiro decided to retire. Isn't it funny how sometimes sets you think won't be any good, actually turn out to be the best? That happened with us with our Lady Leather set. We were told to leave the building where we were shooting, and had about 10 minutes to finish the shoot. I have never shot so fast! I thought the photos would be rubbish, but they turned out great!
We were dodging dozens of hikers (I've never seen that area so busy) and fighting fading light. It should have been a disaster. :)
I know all about dodging hikers! The joys of outdoor shoots, but I love the outdoor shoots the best, don't you? Fading light is a problem too, especially in the winter when the days are so short.
I don't think I've ever seen so many people walking around these ruins -- even on a gorgeous day and this one was anything but.
The most interruptions we ever had in a shoot were when we shot The Lockkeeper's Daughter last spring on the bank of a canal. We thought it would be quiet there, but every couple of minutes someone came walking along, or a boat came sailing by. I was on and off with the clothes so many times! So funny!
Thanks for accepting. If you're ever on this coast, I'll happily buy you a beer. Nice work.
Thanks, Polly. I hope things get better for you, soon.
I sure have seen some of your non-Zivity work!
So, when are you going to visit, so we can make some Zivity and non-Zivity artwork?
Thanks for your friend request! Beautiful work here :)
Thanks, Kealani! Sorry for the slow replies.
I just got back from a trip to Charlotte... sorry we missed each other!
Well, Charlotte is (sort of) in the other direction -- I'm about two hours north/east, along I-40. So, the next time you come to NC, come to Durham -- there's a couple of remarkable photographers here… and me. :)
I know... I drive 40 into NC to get to Charlotte...
Thanks for the FR! I appreciate the kind words.
Thanks for accepting -- I look forward to your next set.
Thanks for the FR, keep up the nice work
Thank you for accepting! And for the kind words! Your work is fantastic.
Hey mate, happy to accept your friend request! Your work is great, no doubt!
I promise not to hold it against you that you're from Michigan (both my parents are Ohioans). ;) Come visit, I'd love to work with you and you can enjoy a break from winter. (Yes, it snowed two days ago, but three days before that, it was in the 70s.)
Thanks for the FR! you have nice work as well!! I see from your profile pic you shoot an RB67.. I just got one a couple weeks ago!
I love using the RB -- that is, until I have to lug it through the woods (which I did with Spiro last weekend). I seem to have a thing for heavy cameras -- my 1D definitely isn't a featherweight. Oh, and thanks for the tumblr follow, as well, Michael.
you are welcome. I seem to have a thing for heavy cameras as well... I have an RB67, Nikon F5 35mm, and a D300s with battery grip... apparently im not happy until my back is breaking! hahaha!
Yeah, I pile on, too -- my F3 has the motor drive and even my "lightweight" EOS 3 has the heavy-duty power pack. I think the lightest camera that I own is the only one that's retired -- the K1000 that I got when I was 12.
Hi Dan! Thanks for the nice FR!
Hi Dan! Thanks for the nice FR!
Thanks for accepting. Your work is fantastic.
Thanks, Dan. Your images are too! checked out your flickr too.
Aw, shucks. Thanks!
Thanks for the friend request :) I'd love to work with you if you're ever in my area :)
This is what I get for working my way through my email, slowly -- I just wrote nearly the exact same thing on your wall. (I'm a little slow -- still getting over the flu.)
Do you ever venture to the east coast?
Haha aww I hope you get better soon! I have family out on the east coast but since I'm a full time student I don't get to travel much....
I'm doing okay. I think I'm up to about 80% human, today. :)
Haha you're almost there! :P
Hi! I'll be out to the East coast a few times this year for the EXXXOTICA shows ;) You can catch up with my itineray on my site - www.cupcakedujour.ca
Thanks for your vote!! your sets look great!!
