About Me

My curriculum vitae is pretty diverse. I'm an actor, model, track champion, Summa Cum Laude with a BA in history, Juris Doctor, and attorney. I recently completed filming my first featured role as an actor in the independent '80s comedy Todd Lucas Singer/ Songwriter. I have a few more acting gigs lined up, but am always looking for more acting and modeling work. I'm creative, athletic, professional, and fun. I enjoy meeting and talking to new models and photographers with whom I may collaborate. My interests include independent and foreign film, music, reading, art, tattoos, history, archaeology, linguistics, science, and sports. And a nice scotch.

Just wanted to drop by and say <333

Hey. Nice to hear from you. I've been super busy. I just filmed a movie at Fox Studios, Baja. The movie is called Callejero and I play a French underground boxer. There are some nice pics from set on my new fb fanpage https://www.facebook.com/aaronsmithactor. It was a lot of work and fight training, but so much fun. Hope you're well. What's new?

  • Posted on 05/20/2013 by RazorCandi
That's really great! Congrtaz, sounds awesome, when does the movie come out? I just liked your page, take care <3

Hi how are you? Thanks for the friend request!

  • Posted on 04/19/2013 by Aaronsmith9
Thanks for stopping by my wall and saying hello. Sorry about the delay getting back. I've been super busy training for a boxing film I'm doing at the end of the month. I'm pretty much living like it's a training camp. How are you this week? I see you're a Kiwi. That's cool. How long have you been in the states?

  • Posted on 03/19/2013 by AngelEyez
    Thanks for the add <3

You are most welcome. Great alt/punk style and photos. Do you have any favorite punk bands? Oi from the U.S.

    Nice to meet you! :)

  • Posted on 03/13/2013 by Aaronsmith9
Thank you. It's nice to met you as well. You have a wonderful portfolio. And I see you're a fellow beer snob. Cheers! I guess we'll both be avoiding the Budweiser. Any favorite beers?

  • Posted on 03/16/2013 by OkiDokiOkami
Definitely avoiding Budweiser at all costs! Ha. My favorites are Left Hand's Nitro Milk Stout and Young's Double Chocolate Stout. I love my rich and creamy headed stouts. :D

  • Posted on 03/23/2013 by Aaronsmith9
Never tried the Nitro, but I'll have to find some. Young's Double Chocolate is one of my favorites, too. I love a good stout. If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend Airdale Dark and Stormy.

  • Posted on 04/03/2013 by OkiDokiOkami
I'll definitely have to try that!! :D

    Hi new friend!!

  • Posted on 03/07/2013 by Aaronsmith9
Hello. It's great to make your acquaintance. Wonderful photo sets. And I see you like Bubba Ho-Tep. I thought I was about the only person who had ever seen that movie.

  • Posted on 03/08/2013 by Trailer
Haha, no way!!! Amazing movie! First, I love Elvis and secondly, I love Bruce Campbell. Just amazing! I'm glad I now know someone else that has enjoyed the film!

  • Posted on 03/09/2013 by Aaronsmith9
I'm glad to know you too. Bubba Ho-Tep is one of the great offbeat comedies that few have seen. Bruce Campbell always cracks me up. And I grew up with Elvis, as my mom was a big fan. I suspect that has something to do with my name- Aaron. Glad we can talk film. It's one of my main interests.

  • Posted on 03/09/2013 by Trailer
Books are mine...but film plays it's own special role in my life.

  • Posted on 03/09/2013 by Aaronsmith9
That's fantastic! Books one of my other great pleasures in life. I've always had more books than bookshelves, though, so my flats have always looked like a post-nuclear library. I also write, as well as act, so I get to create in my favorite mediums. Any favorite literary genres? I've always liked history, horror, fantasy and existentialist lit.

  • Posted on 03/10/2013 by Trailer
Always more books than bookshelves. Always. Fantasy, philosophy, science fiction, horror, suspense, really almost anything but romance and those silly vampire love stories.

  • Posted on 03/11/2013 by Aaronsmith9
Ha! I hear that. I love books, but am so sick of what those goofy YA books about metrosexual, glittery vampires are doing to our literary culture. I see you're a Stephen ing fan. I've been reading him since I was 12. I really loved some of his Dark Tower books, among others.

  • Posted on 03/12/2013 by Trailer
I hated King for years. I first read him I was 10 and the book kind of just ended...I was like but what happened next, did they live, did they die, what, what, what?? You know...but then I read him again in high school, say 1998 or 99, and have been hooked since.
I haven't read any sparkling vampire books, or any Harry Potter books, or even seen any of the movies...

  • Posted on 03/13/2013 by Aaronsmith9
Yeah, I'm with you on the shiny d-bag vamps and Harry Potter. Wouldn't read those to save my life. I managed to avoid the films pretty well, too except for the time my former drummer brought over the first prissy wizard kid flick and I felt obligated. My review:blech! Not sure why that stuff appelas to anyone. Hve you read Neil Gaiman or China Mieville? They're pretty interesting.

  • Posted on 03/13/2013 by Trailer
Have not read either... may look into them, though currently I'm behind on my reading list.

  • Posted on 03/14/2013 by Aaronsmith9
I'm pretty behind on my reading list, myself. I just finished a history of the Vikings, and resumed The Enterprise of Death by Jesse Bullington. I highly recommend American Gods and Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman, and King Rat and Perdido Street Station by China Mieville. Great contemporary fantasy.

  • Posted on 03/06/2013 by RazorCandi
    Ohh new photo! Sexy <333

  • Posted on 03/07/2013 by Aaronsmith9
Thanks, darlin.' It's always an honor to receive such a nice compliment from such a gorgeous woman. It really brightens my day. Glad you like my pics, too. There will be some cool ones up when I get my fb actor/model page up.

Hey, thank you for voting by the way!!

  • Posted on 02/23/2013 by RazorCandi
Thanks so much for your vote and comment on Sparkly Spike, so glad you like the set :-*

  • Posted on 02/23/2013 by ABrinton
Hey, thank you for the friend request! I'm a fan of both...but if I have to choose, I'd say Fitzgerald. You?

  • Posted on 02/23/2013 by Aaronsmith9
I think I lean a bit more toward Hemingway. He's like a good friend whom you love, but drives you nuts sometimes. Sometimes I love what he writes, and sometimes I hate it. Often in the course of the same paragraph. Which adds to the fun. His dialogue is hilarious, but sometimes his characters piss me off. Sometimes he's clearly drunk while writing. I guess I would have to say that for me, it's the quirky, dry humor of his dialogue that puts him over the top. Any other faves?

  • Posted on 02/24/2013 by ABrinton
Haha, that's excellent. I love Russian literature, I really enjoyed Dostoyevsky's The Brother's Karamazov. I loved the character development!

  • Posted on 02/25/2013 by Aaronsmith9
That's a hefty book there. Of course that's Dostoevsky's style. I actually have it, but haven't gotten to it yet. My leisure reading got backed up when I was in law school and I still haven't caught up. Now I'm on about 4 books, including the Stranger in French. I do love the grand yet bleak character of Russian literature. It's existential in a different way from French and German existentialism.

  • Posted on 02/27/2013 by ABrinton
IT IS HEFTY! haha. It's worth a read though, and it certainly is. So, what type of law do you practice?

  • Posted on 02/28/2013 by Aaronsmith9
I'll definitely get to the Brothers Kazamazov in the near future, time permitting. I haven't taken up any secialized area of law. A law school curriculum consists of several core areas that every lawyer has to know, plus electives. Bar exams test rigorously on all core subjects. Then you can practice almost any type. I passed the CA bar, but the market sucks, so I ended up acting. Funny, right?

  • Posted on 03/01/2013 by ABrinton
Oh, I see. I don't know much about law school curriculum. It's good that you can practice almost any type, that provides more options! And that IS funny, how is acting going? Acting is fun :)

  • Posted on 03/02/2013 by Aaronsmith9
You're actually not far off as far as how it works after law school. Most lawyers do specialize in a few types of law, although they are permitted to branch out. The acting is going quite well. Thanks for asking. I've been working consistently since July, when I got my fist speaking role in an idie 80s comedy called Eternity:The Movie. Mostly small stuff, but very busy this spring. Have you acted?

  • Posted on 03/05/2013 by ABrinton
Ah cool :)! I'll try to find that comedy. I have acted but only a little bit. I was in theater, it was fun, but I haven't done any acting professionally. I was also in an improv group outside of school, I really enjoyed it. I think that modeling is similar to acting though, it's fun :).

  • Posted on 03/05/2013 by Aaronsmith9
Yeah, there is definitely some crossover between acting and modeling. You are still performing, and in a sense creating a character. I work in both, but am focusing more on acting right now. I'm actually filming 2 projects this weekend, then might squeeze in a shoot before filming the next weekend. Still waiting to see most of my work, as all my films are in postproduction. I'll keep you posted.

  • Posted on 03/20/2013 by ABrinton
Sorry for the slow response, I have been out of town and moving....but yes it is! I hope the filming went well and I'm excited to see your work :). Do keep me posted!

  • Posted on 03/23/2013 by Aaronsmith9
Will do. And no worries on the delay. I'm just glad you're doing ok. Filming went great on both projects. One was a short, so my work on that is done. I just have to wait through postproduction. The second one is a feature, and I'm back on it in mid April. Thanks so much for taking an interest in my work. I think your work is awesome. Hope your new home turns out well. Great to hear from you :)

  • Posted on 03/26/2013 by ABrinton
:) thanks, that's sweet of you! I'm glad the filming went great, and of course...likewise! My new home is great so far, I'm really enjoying it, thank you! Let me know when the postproduction is though so I can see, and good luck on the second one! (haha so postproduction has the red spell check squiggly, and I right clicked to correct...but the only option was prostitution or liposuction...)

  • Posted on 03/27/2013 by Aaronsmith9
That's funny, I filled out a form on career day and it said my best opitions were prostitution or liposuction assistant in the 3rd world. Post production is pretty slow. Most feature films take about a year. Tv is about 4 months. But the film I did in July is pretty far along, and the recent shorts should be ready soon. I'm also setting up a fanpage. Glad the move turned out. Anything else new?

  • Posted on 03/30/2013 by ABrinton
    ha haha!! Nice.

Oh ok, that's pretty cool....send me the fanpage! Hmm not too much else is new, though. Just busy. You?

  • Posted on 04/03/2013 by Aaronsmith9
I've been keeping busy, too. New pics and just set up the fanpage. It's https://www.facebook.com/aaronsmithactor. You're also very welcome to my personal page. I'll send you a message with that link, too. 2 weeks off from filming. I may read my roommate's bio of Hemingway and Fitzgerald. Will let you know if it's good.

  • Posted on 04/03/2013 by Aaronsmith9
Hmm. The silly message button didn't work, so here's my personal page https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100003551327531&ref=tn_tnmn . Btw, would you like to be a featured model on my fanpage? I could post a pic and links to any of your work you would like to promote. I think it's lovely stuff.

  • Posted on 04/05/2013 by ABrinton
Oh sweet! I actually don't use facebook, but I took a look at your page and I love your photos...is that your son? Such a good photo!! And thank you so much, I'd love that!! You are so kind!

  • Posted on 04/08/2013 by Aaronsmith9
Yup, that's my son Ryker. He's 16 months old. The pic was taken on location for the film I'm currently working on. I have him about half the week, and take him on set sometimes. And sometimes, as in this case, he ends up in the film. It's his second film appearance. Glad you like the photos and are interested in appearing on the page. I would love to promote your lovely work.

  • Posted on 04/10/2013 by ABrinton
Aww how cute, I love that name!! Haha wow I bet it's fun for him to appear in the films!

  • Posted on 04/14/2013 by Aaronsmith9
Ryker is a Dutch name, meaning strength or wealth. The joke is, his mom liked it and I was studying for the bar, therefore that's his name. He's a big ham and full of energy. Loves to go out and play. He gets to play a lot on set, and seemed to have fun watching me do fight training for my next film. And he loves having his picture taken.

  • Posted on 04/15/2013 by ABrinton
Oh awesome haha...he's really cute, and that's so cool that you can bring him to shoot with you! I bet he will follow in your footsteps :)

  • Posted on 04/19/2013 by Aaronsmith9
Thanks. I think he's pretty cute, too. Of course I may be a bit partial. If he does follow in my footsteps, I only hope I can lead him to the shortcut so he doesn't have to stumble and wind as much as I did. I want him to have every opportunity to do whatever he chooses. So he gets to come along on lots of adventures.

  • Posted on 04/19/2013 by ABrinton
Well if he does than I'm sure it would be great to have you as a mentor :). He is lucky to have a dad like you!!

  • Posted on 04/25/2013 by Aaronsmith9
Aww, thanks. Dada is my number one job. Going to pick up baby this afternoon and play until Sunday.

  • Posted on 05/01/2013 by ABrinton
That's great!! Did you guys have fun?

  • Posted on 05/06/2013 by Aaronsmith9
We always have fun playing together. Even when he's having his toddler fussies. He loves to dance, play, and go out to see the world. He loves dogs and animals (many of which he calls arf arfs). He also loves taking baths with dada and sleeping on his face. Didn't take him to Mex to film. He was with his mom. But did get an new maraca and baby soccer uniform.

  • Posted on 05/07/2013 by ABrinton
I bet...haha. THat's so cute. And I love that he calls dogs arf arfs...ooommmgg!!! hahaha!!

  • Posted on 05/10/2013 by Aaronsmith9
Yeah, he's all-around adorable. He goes arf arf when he sees dogs on the street or on tv. Also arfs at horses and sometimes cats. he's learning more words, too. Points at the bus in his book and says "bus" but it often sounds like butt.

  • Posted on 05/14/2013 by ABrinton
    Awww!! That's so cute....buttbus hehe!

  • Posted on 05/20/2013 by Aaronsmith9
Yeah, it's adorable how he's starting to verbalize. He says "up" when he wants me to pick him up. "No" is a new favorite. "Wow" and "whoa" are new. And he started doing the cutest thing. He runs up and hugs my legs at random times.

It is definitely a great place to meet other artists and network in a really supportive community :). That's great that you've been able to find like-minded people here. I've been on Zivity almost 3 years now (I think May will be 3 years ^_^). I love it here!

hey new friend, how are you?

  • Posted on 02/14/2013 by Aaronsmith9
Thanks for the friend request. I'm doing pretty well. I've been keeping busy promoting some of my film and tv work that is due to be released soon, while getting ready for two new projects. It's hectic, but fun. How are you doing?

  • Posted on 02/13/2013 by GigiRose
Hey you. Thanks for being my new friend. You like City of Lost Children! That movie is amazing. I feel like too few people have seen it :)

  • Posted on 02/14/2013 by Aaronsmith9
You're very welcome. It's always nice to talk to someone who appreciates City of Lost Children. It's a beautiful film. I wish more people had seen it, but in my experience, the people who do appreciate it tend to be cool, artistic individuals. It's very nice to meet you. You may also enjoy some of the other films on my list, particularly Delicatessen by the directors of City of Lost Children.

  • Posted on 02/15/2013 by GigiRose
Well then, I'll definitely have to check that one out! Thanks for the recommendation :) I hope you had a nice valentines day! Did you do anything special?

By the way, thanks so much for the vote! xoxoxo

  • Posted on 02/16/2013 by Aaronsmith9
You're welcome. It's a lovely set. I look forward to hearing what you think of Delicatessen. I can safely say it's the most charming film I have ever seen about post-apocalyptic cannibals. V-day was ok. My personal life is a bit off, but I got to spend the night hanging out with my baby son, which was great. Other than that, just Supernatural on dvd and books. I hope you had a wonderful day. :)

  • Posted on 02/17/2013 by GigiRose
Aww well time spent with family is always good. Supernatural is one of my favorites!! What season are you on? I'll def keep you posted when I see the movie!

  • Posted on 02/18/2013 by Aaronsmith9
I actually have Supernatural seasons 1-5. That's where the creator envisioned the story ending, and he left after that. I still watch regularly, but it's not quite the same. Thursday I watched a couple of episodes from season 5. Since it was V-Day, I watched the one with the Cupid and Famine, and some other season 5 episodes. Awesome show. Have you seen many of the seasons?

  • Posted on 02/19/2013 by GigiRose
I've seen everything except or season 8! I agree, after season 5 it hasn't been the same. 1-5 are so e of the best TV I have seen. I love the Cupid episode!!

  • Posted on 02/19/2013 by Aaronsmith9
Yeah, during it's better years, it was absolutely one of the best shows ever. I love folklore and the paranormal. And I also think it's one of the best family shows ever. Not in the typical Cosby/sitcom way, but in terms of loyalty, self-sacrifice, and putting your family above everything. Even above yourself. The Cupid one is fun to revisit. Cas going burger crazy. Dean punching Cupid. Awesome.

  • Posted on 02/20/2013 by GigiRose
Agreed! I love that it was a show about the paranormal that didn't sink to the standards of today's supernatural fads. It wasn't some cheesy love story.the show was scary and dark and interesting and without the focal point of a romance you they were able to dig really deep into each character.

  • Posted on 02/20/2013 by Aaronsmith9
Exactly. They bothered to develop the characters, family relationships and storyline. They also drew plots and creaturees from folklore, not from YA teenie-bopper books. Gotta love the scene where Dean beheads a vapm and says "Eat it, twilight." Do you have any favorite episodes or moments from the show?

  • Posted on 02/22/2013 by GigiRose
Right, which is why the show works so well!! Haha actually the whole Twilight inspired episode was hilarious. I also love just about anything Cas says, ever. For example, the alternate reality in which Cas is human and a hippie and telling the girls to "wash up for the orgy", that gets me every time. I love how dead pan he is, it creates such perfect comic moments.

  • Posted on 02/23/2013 by Aaronsmith9
Cas is a total crackup. And the deadpan delivery really is what makes it work. Plus the way he takes everything so literally. Some funny moments that come to mind: On the cell: "This isn't funny, Dean. The voice says I'm almost out of minutes." Drunk Cas to Sam: "I got your message. It was long. I find the sound of your voice grating." Great take on angels, an underutilized paranormal entity.

Thanks for the add sexy ;) meow!

  • Posted on 02/14/2013 by Aaronsmith9
Thank you, darlin.' Meow right back. And I loved your demon-themed set. Great concept and incredible makeup and costuming.

  • Posted on 02/14/2013 by RazorCandi
Thanks so much! I love themes like that ;) Though getting done up all sexy is nice my specialty is more decorative themes ;) Nice bands you got listed there, you really are a catch! <3

  • Posted on 02/16/2013 by Aaronsmith9
Aww. Thanks sweetie. You're a doll. And quite a catch yourself, although I'm sure a stunner like you hears that all the time. Glad to hear we like some of the same bands. I've alway been passionate about music and film. I was even in a band before I finished school, and have been luck enough to work in film now. I'm very impressed by your work. Very artistic and very sexy.

  • Posted on 02/17/2013 by RazorCandi
Thank so much for your supportive words! That rocks that you used to play in band, were you the singer or did you play an instrument? Also very cool that you work in film, I believe it's always important to have an outlet with art and expressing yourself, I guess we can both count ourselves lucky ;)

  • Posted on 02/18/2013 by Aaronsmith9
Yeah, it's great to be able to do something you enjoy. When I was doing music, I was the singer, guitarist and songwriter. School became my focus after that. I loved studying history in undergrad, but went to law school after that. I didn't enjoy that at all. And after I passed the bar, walked into a bad job market. So I tried acting and it's going well so far. When did you get into modeling?

  • Posted on 02/19/2013 by RazorCandi
Sweet! I went to Cosmetology school for hair and nails and I didn't dig it much haha, funny how people usually have to go to school to figure out what they don't want to do lol. I bet you look hot on film, gotta catch that Devils Ride show for sure ;) I started modeling about 10 years ago actually, but really only got into adult modeling about 3 years so I am pretty new in this scene.

  • Posted on 02/19/2013 by Aaronsmith9
Well, you're doing great. You've definitely found your niche. I occasionally do some modeling too, but I'm more focused on acting right now. I just did some shots for my acting comp card and upcoming actor fan page, so there should be some new pics circulating soon. I also have my model mayhem port linked on my zivity page. Thanks for taking interest in my tv work. You know I love your work.

Ohh I have to go add you on Model Mayhem then! Just looked and very nice work! I think you've also found your niche. I've never really acted but I think I'd be pretty terrible at it lol I have so much respect for actors because it's something I don't think I could ever do. Best of luck to you and your career!

Many thanks, gorgeous. Acting has always been something that I have gravitated towards. I think that for the most part it's something that either comes naturally, or it doesn't come at all. I do think you have the type of look that could work well for paranormal, or maybe historical films. Maybe a sexy countess. I'm glad you like my work. I take it as a big compliment coming from you.

I can probably do a silent film lol I just never got the lines down, I think I sound so fake and rehearsed when I talk on camera haha but I am sure most people hate hearing their voices played back.

Never stopped lots of people from trying. Unfortunately. The more films I do, the more I appreciate how fortunate I am in being able to just escape into a character. I do think that you create and fall into wonderful characters in your photos. You convey in visually, as opposed to verbally. Re: my voice on screen- I've gotten used to it, but change it, often drastically, for different characters.

That's so awesome :D Acting definitely seems like fun and would certainly be an escape, but I guess I just don't feel as passionate about it as I do about modeling, guess I just got really used to modeling, it comes so natural :)

And you're great at modeling. People often don't realize that it is a skill and a talent. It's awesome that you found something you're passionate about and exceptional at, and you get to make it a consistent part of your life. I understand you're an artist as well. That's fantastic. How did you come about that talent?

Zivity loves you too.
