Well, the cool thing is you can write something on your wall here and make it "stick to the top". So, your fans can see what you are up to! You can also embed links to photos etc.
I haven't thought about it, but you are right. I think there is a general decline in personal blogging that I've noticed. I do still read a lot of blogs, but they are mostly tech. It is probably because people are using smaller form factor like walls, twitter, sms, messaging, etc.
