Hi freshiejuice. Nice to meet you. Lot's of cephalopods here in upstate New York but they are all fossils.
fossils are fun too!
So why the interest in these amazing creatures?
well cephalopods are extremely intelligent animals and theres nothing else on earth like them! They way their skin works is extremely fascinating not to mention how beautifully and gracefully they move through the ocean beds. In short they are just totally awesome.
There are so many beautiful and intelligent creatures. The very intelligent ones are often shunned by humans... Octopus, Crow, Pig. We seem to favor primates, dogs, parrots. Why do you think this is?
i think it's that its easier to dislike things we don't understand. most of us do not have an acquired taste for the abnormal. it's easy to discard something as strange rather then embrace it and try to understand it
